OSHA expands 300 log reporting to include H1N1 for certain companies

On November 20, 2009 OSHA came out with a new directive regarding employer reporting of H1N1 illnesses. The directive states "employees with a high risk of becoming infected due to occupational exposure of contaminated materials" are covered under this directive. As I read the directive it appears it covers most health care and elder care facilities.
For more information regarding this directive, click on Safety Links and then click on the OSHA website. Once it comes up you will note a scrolling set of pictures on their home page. In that same box are numbers 1-5. Click on #5 and a picture will come up with headings at the bottom of the page. Click on Workplace Safety and H1N1 Fact sheet and follow the link to Employers. The entire document will come up for your review.
